WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade items increases item level by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like Eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with higher variance because of the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear current it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for weapons, armor, tools, and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a button, which will show an item's preview at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Item upgraders can be found in many places including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade items coupon and the possibility of getting a new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at the beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades are acquired via several methods which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3 the upgrade system has been modified a bit, and numerous new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This applies even if the items are from a different set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is reduced as well, but is only available once certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific, and are used during specific item upgrader kit level Upgrade [algowiki.win] level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests depending on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be by doing outdoor activities, or by taking on dungeons and raids of any difficulty to earn lower-level gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons that have a high difficulty to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn, in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and routes.

The use of these currencies isn't too difficult however, the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear reaches the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another significant change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance, it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning to make. This is especially true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
